When you are looking to make an investment into such an important milestone session, such as your Senior portraits, you want to be sure to be prepared and find the best photographer! There are so many photographers, at all different price points, and at all different experience levels. To the hobbyists, to the professionals and everything in between. So I have put together some questions for you to think about when you are doing your search, so you can be sure you will really be getting what you are paying for. I hear so many horror stories from clients that pay for sessions, and then the photographer ghosts them, or leaves them hanging, or worst of all getting back images that look nothing like what is advertised on websites. I get the frustrations!

So when you are on the search for a trustworthy and reliable professional Senior photographer, here are some questions you can think about, and ask:

1. Ask to see a full final gallery delivered to an actual client. You want to see a consistent quality and style through out the website, on social media and on delivered galleries. If you see social media posts are all one style, then the website is something totally different, and then they can't show you a full gallery, that is a red flag, and you will want to continue your search! 

2. What about during the session prep, once your session is booked, how much information, or guiding will you get. Will your photographer send you session guides to help you prep for the best session? Will they walk you through different location ideas to help you find what your looking for? Will they give your style guides for what to wear? All of this is session prep, and you will want to find someone that will walk you through all of that, so you have the best session, and all of that will make it an enjoyable and stress free experience!

3. When looking at packages, be sure to ask what is included in the package you are looking to get. How long is the session, what is due to book the session, what is all included in that fee? Are any digital files, or any kind of products included? How many outfits can you wear? Can you bring along a friend or your mom? All of that info should be a clear answer, so you know exactly what to expect.

4. Also, when looking at packages, does the photographer only offer digital files and leave you with having to find your own products and where to order from? Or do they offer professional products in the package, or as an additional add on to your package. All of those details are important to know before hand so you get exactly what your looking for!

5. At the session, you will want to know if they will be guiding you with poses. If you have no idea how to pose yourself, or have any idea what to do with your hands you will want a photographer that will give you guidance and direction, so you don't have to worry about a thing.

6. Lastly, you will want to ask about turnaround times, and what the process is after the session. So you can know if you will see finished images in a week, or 12 weeks! (yes, i know crazy!! but some do have 12++ weeks for turnaround times!)
